John F. Grienenberger, Ph.D.
Board Member, Program Developer
John F. Grienenberger, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and developmental researcher. He is the founder, clinical & executive director of Community West. He is the program developer of the Reflective Parenting Program and the Reflective Care Program, core components of CRC. He has extensive experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy and mentalization-based individual and family work, and has trained hundreds of therapists in his mentalization-based model of treatment.
Dr. Grienenberger has authored numerous papers and presentations, and developed training programs in the areas of psychotherapy, attachment, mentalization, and parenting. He conducts trainings and presentations nationally and internationally. He has a private practice in West Los Angeles conducting psychological and neuropsychological testing as well as providing psychotherapy to children, adults, families, and couples. -
Lisa Chen, MA and LMFT
Board Member
As a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Reflective Communities, Lisa Chen, MBA, LMFT, contributes her expertise to fostering healthy attachment-based treatments between parents and children. Lisa is a Hermosa Beach psychotherapist specializing in trauma therapy and couples therapy, with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Her educational background includes degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School.
Lisa's professional journey spans counseling services in both community health and private practice settings. Her empathetic approach integrates psychological insights with evidence-based techniques such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), empowering clients to build resilience and overcome challenges. As an individual and couples therapist in Hermosa Beach, she delivers compassionate and personalized care to individuals and couples, incorporating EMDR and IFS.

Matt Albert, Ed.D.
Board Member
Matt Albert is director at the Teshinsky Family Foundation, focusing on workforce development and alternate post-secondary pathways. He is the former executive director at the Center for Reflective Communities. Prior to CRC, he founded and ran New Los Angeles Charter Schools, public charter schools serving 600 predominantly low-income students in grades K-8. Previously, Dr. Albert was previously the director of admissions and recruitment at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Los Angeles, where he was also an adjunct professor in the Rhea Hirsch School of Education.
Dr. Albert began his career teaching history and American government at Milken Community High School, where he served as dean of students and assistant principal. He was part of a team of experts who developed a school leadership certificate program at UCLA Extension and teaches school management and leadership in the program. He lives in Los Angeles with his two children where he authors the Big Picture Parenting blog at Psychology Today. -
Kent Fourman
Board Chair
Kent Fourman is the retired vice president and chief information officer of The General Insurance, a specialty auto insurance company based in Nashville, TN. He is former CIO of Gaylord Entertainment and held technology leadership positions in industries including healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, music distribution, publishing services, and manufacturing. Kent’s community involvement includes past board chair of Alignment Nashville (Metro Nashville Public Schools community partner); board member of Nashville Technology Council Foundation; board member of Divine Care Ministries (Ugandan education and community development); past board member of the Center for Nonprofit Management; member of the Education Task Force of Nashville Organized for Action and Hope; and mock interviewer for Project Return.
Kent is a native Ohioan. He holds a B.S. in business administration from Miami University and an MBA from Youngstown State University.
